This retreat is an opportunity for families of ABA pastors and church ministry staff  to enjoy a few days of fellowship, recreation and inspiration at Camp Caroline just South of Caroline. We are excited about this upcoming retreat.

This retreat is an opportunity for families of ABA pastors and church ministry staff  to enjoy a few days of fellowship, recreation and inspiration at Camp Caroline just South of Caroline. We are excited about this upcoming retreat.

Speaker: Bill McAlpine

Born to TEAM missionary parents in Chad Africa, Bill grew up in a pastor's home after his parents' return to Toronto. Bill has studied at Capernwray Hall, England, Columbia Bible College (now Columbia International University) in Columbia, South Carolina, Canadian Theological Seminary, and defended his PhD dissertation through University of Aberdeen in Scotland in October 2006. He has pastored for just under 16 years in Alliance Churches in Ontario and Saskatchewan and served for 26 years as Professor of Pastoral Theology at Ambrose University in Calgary, Alberta. He retired as Professor Emeritus of Practical Theology in June of 2019. Bill has authored two books, Sacred Space for the Missional Church, published in February of 2011 and Four Essential Loves: Heart Readiness for Leadership and Ministry, published, May 2013. Bill and his wife Heather have been married for since 1974 and been blessed with four wonderful adult children, all of whom are married and six amazing grandchildren. One of his major downfalls, according to some of his peers is that he is an avid Leafs fan with a rapidly developing loyalty to the Calgary Flames!

This retreat is an opportunity for ABA pastors and church ministry staff families to enjoy a few days of fellowship, recreation and inspiration at Camp Caroline just South of Caroline.  Camp Caroline is in the beautiful foothills of Alberta and has an inviting facility with an indoor pool, hot-tub, full size gym and great sitting areas. 

Children programming is provided by the JOE SHOW ENTERTAINMENT for preschool age up to Grade 6 while the parents enjoy worship and encouragement from the Word.  
Programming for children 2 and under is not available. 

Teenagers are encouraged to take part in the worship sessions with their families.  The rest of the time is un-scheduled to give opportunity for relaxation and play. 

*Feel free to arrive anytime after 5pm on Sunday.   (Room assignments will not be available before then). 
There is no supper meal scheduled, however, the famous Camp Caroline cinnamon buns will be provided at approximately 8:30pm as an evening snack.

Rooming:
Rooming will be assigned based on family unit, ie. couples, young children, teenagers and amount of registrations.  There are three lodges: Hillside, Aspen, & Creekside.  Hillside and Aspen mattresses have fitted sheets. Creekside have new mattresses but will require fitted sheets.

An option to accommodate further additional registrations (if CC is full) has been made available at Clearwater College, 15 minutes from Camp Caroline (map, below). Meals and all other camp activities will be happening at Camp Caroline. There are no additional costs for this room arrangement. 

Things not to forget:
Bedding ie. sleeping bag & Pillow 
Toiletries
Clean shoes or slippers for inside facility
Gym shoes for use in the gym
Swimming gear (pool & hot tub)
Outdoor gear for hiking, tobogganing, snow shoeing, etc.
Games & snacks (please avoid any snacks with peanuts)
