Val is the founder and Executive Artistic Director of Fire Exit Theatre, in its 24th season of Telling Stories That Matter in Calgary. She is a licensed minister with the EMCC and worked for 15 years with Centre Street Church in their creative arts department. Val also took over the theatre department at Rocky Mountain College and went on to help launch the theatre program at Ambrose University.
She is a playwright, performer, producer and educator.
She is an arts chaplain to the community and loves good conversation over strong coffee. Val believes church should be more like theatre and theatre should be more like church.
